On May 23rd, my good friend Aaron O'Brien will be competing for the title of Mr. Marina in San Francisco at The Parlor. He will be up against 11 other men in the battle to find the man who best represents the Marina spirit and lives up to the social and stereotypical qualities that guys in the Marina are known for. Hitting up the hots spots Tipsy Pig, Brixton, Brickyard and Mas, rocking preppy clothes by day and night, and being the life of the party all the time. This competition is being put on by Team Slap Cancer in order to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in support in the fight against blood cancer.
So here are the 20...yes 20...reasons why Aaron has this competition in the bag....
1. He is one classy gentleman. If you don't know him yet, this pretty much sums him up right here. Anyone who can pull off the 3/4 tuck and make it look better than a full tuck has Mr. Marina written all over them.
2. He never forgets the most important of all rules : Bros before hos.
3. The ladies love him. Only Aaron O'Brien gets the opportunity of being surrounded by babes in the most pimped out spots. Whether it's in a disco hot tub room, Mas Sake, or Brixton, the Marina girls flock.
4. He can rock the lens or lensless party shades like its no ones business.
5. He's patriotic and loves his country.
6. But , he also supports other countries and is versed in International Affairs. He will rock a Mexican poncho and a sombrero any day of the week, even if it's a school night. Donde esta la fiesta?
7. He takes pride in his Irish heritage. They don't call him Potatoes for nothing!
8. He has impeccable Marina style. White pants, pastel button down shirt, navy sports coat, and classy shades need I say more?
9. He has a passion for children. As Mr. Marina, he would be a role model for all Marina children to look up to.
10. He is an excellent fisherman and an avid outdoorsman
11. He knows how to cut a rug on the dance floor. Aaron has been know to have some of the best dance moves in San Francisco. Not everyone has the stamina to pull off the 4 girls to 1 guy ratio
12. He is one hell of a bartender and his pour shot is perfection. No need to order a double, he's got you covered.
13. He has his own figurine named after him. Hasbro called once they heard the news of the Mr. Marina competition and wanted to sponsor him as ...Mr. Potato Head "Marina" limited edition.
14. He makes the side angle pose look effortless. He is prepared for the Mr. Marina spotlight and all the paparazzi that will be following him after the competition.
15. He only rides in style. His choice of transportation is limos, preferably leopard print. Taxis aren't made for men who run the Marina.
16. He started the fedora trend. He is a leader in rocking the latest fashion accessories and by the time they become super trendy...he's on to the next one!
17. Also, he isn't afraid to rock a deep pink V with matching pink shades and headband. Come to think of it, he actually prefers it. To him it's all about two words : color coordination.
18. He always sports the best costumes. From Boogie Nights to horses rear ends, OB takes the cake with his 'fits
19. He has a million friends and is extremely popular. Mr. Marina has to be the "IT" guy who everyone knows and loves. Aaron gets hundreds of Facebook friend requests each week, yes he's THAT popular.
20. And last but not least......He knows how to PARTY.
