Funny Fridays: TGIF Jokes and Giggles

After this week, all I can say is TGIF! You know those weeks that seem to last forever and nothing seems to go right? Well...I had one this week and let me tell you, I am so glad it's over! Being sick and having a terrible work week, made the world seem like it was falling apart. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but the two do notgo hand-in-hand. Seconds seemed like minutes, minutes seemed like hours. I thought I would never get through it, but I did and I'm ready to celebrate this weekend. Fleet Week!

I thought to cheer everyone up and start the weekend off right, what better way than with a great TGIF joke I came across. If this doesn't make you laugh, then I give up. LOL.

T.G.I.F. vs S.H.I.T.

A blonde lady and a man are in an elevator. The blonde obviously just ending a hard day of work and says, "T.G.I.F." The man sort of laughing and says, "S.H.I.T." The lady frusrated says again, "T.G.I.F." Again the man says, "S.H.I.T."
The lady turns to the man and says, "How dare you swear in the presence of a lady! T.G.I.F.; Thank God It's Friday." The man turns to her and says, "I wasn't swearing! S.H.I.T.; Sorry Honey It's Thursday."

Happy Friday everyone! Live it up to the fullest and get silly :)

Thirsty Thursdays : FLEET WEEK, Electric Nights @ Noble , Hot Mess at Manor West, Team Peroni!

This coming weekend is by far one of the best of the year! Fleet Week!!!!!! The renowned Blue Angels will be soaring above San Francisco and providing us all with a spectacular air show that is not to be missed! On Saturday and Sunday, get yourself to a roof top so you can catch the best view. It's fun to bounce around to house parties and play drinking games with friends...my favorite is flip cup but be prepared to have some "frienemies" by the end of a match! If your trying to decide on a location, the Marina is a great place to be and where I'll be heading! Fort Mason will be a popular spot as well. Being outside is a must and it looks like the weather is going to be pretty nice so why not enjoy it? Much fun is ahead!

If you are looking for a place to head Friday night, I would check out Hot Mess at Manor West! This is always a fun party and my main blog picture was snapped at this same event in August. Look out for the fun signs and take a pic or two with "Awooga" or "Look Mom No Lenses"

                                                                         Hot Mess

After a fun day out watching the jets on Saturday, save some energy for Electric Nights at Noble hosted by Nick Macario and Matt Plank. This party gets hotter and hotter every month and will be even better with Ecto Cooler spinning all night long! He is a DJ hailing from LA and is known for his high energy electronic sets! You may be familiar wih his amazing Coachella Essentials Sounds of the Sahara Tent  mix he put together this year!(http://soundcloud.com/ectocooler/2011-coachella-essentials )  He kills it! Saturday is  bound to be a Sahara Tent kind of night, so get ready for amazing music and dancing all night long!   https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=288691497809723

Electric Nights :)

And to complete the weekend, what better way to end it than in North Beach at the Columbus Day Parade. They shut down Columbus Avenue that day and have an awesome parade that is super fun to watch! The bars are packed and it's a fun event for all! I'll be supporting Team Peroni!!!!!!  http://www.sfcolumbusday.org/

Wear it Wednesdays: Chinatown Treats

Usually when I think of Chinatown, I think the opposite of trendy. But after my excursion with my friend Sarah this past weekend...i'm starting to change my mind :) We decided to take a stroll down to pink bag central to make the most of our Sunday and get some fresh air. What we thought would be a pointless trip, ended up being a landmine for some great new fashion accessories. We came across two stores on Broadway that had the cutest headbands, animal visors, a billion different types of fake eyelashes, hair extenstions, and more!

Here is us modeling our new animal visors. We went with the tiger, rabbit and monkey. Buy 2 get 1 free obviously. Not sure where we will be debuting these gems, but I'm sure its bound to be good times. I expect I'll be "loaning" it out which is a standard move for me when I'm out with my friends. I buy all these cool things, and when I go to look for them the next day..gone! Oh well, I always make sure to snap a few pics to remember I owned them.

Is that Betty Boop?
The Asian man working here thought so! He got some good humor out of the two of us rummaging through the store. He wanted us to buy everything there. "O you gir wan set up account here?" Yes, totally, let me just forget Nordstrom and Bloomies, this place is way more convenient and fun :)

Taco Tuesdays: House Restaurant..SF's Best Kept Secret..Ooops :)

I can't even believe that after over two years of living in the city, I had never dined in one of San Francisco's yummiest restaurants... The House. Well that was until last Friday, when I sat for two hours in amazement of how delicious the food was. I had always heard amazing reviews about this place from friends and yet for some reason, it was always put on the backburner. BAD decision! I am kicking myself for not trying this place out sooner. Now I know better than to stick to the "typical" restaurants and start venturing out to little places such as this that have so much to offer.

So heres the lowdown on the restaurant: I'ts located in North Beach off of Columbus Avenue and food featured is Asian Fusion. It's a tiny little place so tables are limited and it's always packed. Reservations are a definite must and being on time is of utmost importance! I stress this because my friends and I have a bad habit of always being late to dinner. Usually we are able to weasel are way into letting this slide, but not here!

So what are the best things to order? Well pretty much everyone that I had talked to prior, had recommended the sea bass. Which I have to agree was one of the most amazing dishes I have ever eaten! I also would recommend the tuna tartare for starters, although I hope you like wasabi because there's A LOT of it! I also could not stop stuffing my face (I know not cute) with the flank steak with wasabi noodles. Nom Nom Nom. I also tried the salad special for the night which was a papaya and steak salad... also excellent as well. Lastly, to finish up a perfect dinner...Warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

I was in food heaven and still am after that meal! I highly recommend going if you haven't because you have been missing out!

Music Mondays: Swedish Dreams :)

Yay my first music blog to date!!! This is by far one of my favorite topics I'm excited to dive into as I have a passion for electronic music. I'm a house music junkie I guess you could say :) And why not start off with a little Swedish love to pump you all up!

The first music highlight of the week is by Swedish DJ Avicii who is climbing the charts and taking over the house music world. He just released a new podcast on his official website and it is AMAZING. This is his 3rd Levels Podcast! Here is the link to it to start listening and will take you to a download option as well.

The other Swede who is capturing my heart these days is Alesso. He is only 18 years old and is rising up the house music charts with his hits Good Love, Calling ft. Sebastian Ingrosso, and Pressure ft. Alex Kenji and Nadia Ali. I want to point out his amazing set at Electronic Zoo Festival in New York in September. The last 10-15 minutes of the set blow me away! Wish I had been there! I still have yet to see him live, so making that a priority on my list of to-dos.

Enjoy!

Sunday Funday! Bring on the Mimosas

Was thinking of what to write about for my first Sunday entry as I sit in my living room not hungover for the first time in awhile. I figure why not share "fun" things on Sunday to keep the weekend upbeat going into the ever so dreaded Monday, when most of us have to return back to our normal lives.

I think it is only appropriate for my first Funday edition to talk about one of my favorite things to do on Sundays...  Brunch it up...Dragging myself out of bed after a long Saturday night, grabbing a group of friends, and going to a fun spot to eat some breakfast and gossip about the weekend. And of course the most important part of the brunch is...a mimosa to nurse the hangover :)

There are a few spots in San Francisco that I frequent as they offer bottomless mimosas...I mean why have just one when you can make things so much more fun with 2, 3, 4, 5, 10? LOL...These spots include Circa (http://www.circasf.com/)  in the Marina which charges $10 for bottomless, under the requirements you order food as well. Circa has become a staple over the past couple years as its in a great location and  has a good atmosphere. Another great spot is in North Beach called Delluva. (www.delluvasf.com/) This little wine bar does $15 bottomless mimosas on the weekends and the food is super cheap! You can order yummy mac and cheese or a pizza for $5 and walk away happy. They have outdoor seating as well, which is perfect for those warm days in SF, which don't come often but are amazing when they do. The last place I want to mention is for those who are really looking for FUN in a Sunday Brunch. The place for this is Lime restaurant in the Castro! This place is hip, always packed, and makes you feel as if your in a nightclub at 11am in the morning. They have $10 mimosas, good food, and play the house music while you eat and drink! It's a great spot to do birthdays and celebrate, just make sure you prepare yourself for a long Monday as things can get pretty crazy here! (http://www.lime-sf.com/)

Other spots I am hoping to try out are Fresca, Brunch Drunk Love,  & Luna Park. Always like trying out new things :)

Lastly,  to get you even more in the spirit of Mimosas...a clip from 30 Rock featuring one of my favorite actors Will Ferrell
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9IA4XFPEnk

Finally, how could I forget to mention one of the most memorable brunches ever with my parents and best friends Kelly and Marco on the Hornblower Cruise. The term bottomless mimosas took on a whole new meaning that day and ended with this amazing performance! LOL

The sun definitely was not coming out after that performance!
